Adding rich mapping capabilities to your site is now really easy - so there's no excuse not to. Virtual Earth provides a rich, yet easy to implement, set of interfaces so that you can get it running on your site (complete with all the bells and whistles) in a just a few hours.
Here's a few easy steps to get you started:
- Check out the site gallery and see what other people are doing with Virtual Earth already. With sites demonstrating everything from ink overlays, to live tracking of the space station, it's pretty clear almost anything is possible.
- Read part one of the getting started articles. This article will help you understand how to get started using the Virtual Earth Map Control.
- Open and bookmark the API Resources.
- Crack out the cans of Pepsi, combine with your new found arsenal of knowledge and thrash that keyboard.
- Take a quick browse through the FAQ for some tips on how to iron out those last few quirks.
- Tell the world about your new creation.
Remember that Virtual Earth has some licensing restrictions regarding commercial use.
